Our Team

When each child starts with us, we allocate them a key person, and a ‘back-up’ key person in case the key person is absent for any reason. We believe children settle best when they have a key person to relate to, someone who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs. We are committed to the key person approach which benefits the child, the parents, the staff and the setting. It encourages secure relationships which support children to thrive, give parents confidence and make the setting a happy place to attend or work in.

Our team of Early Years Educators are all qualified to level 3 or above in Early Years Care and Education, with many years’ experience working with babies and young children. Many of our team also have their own children, so understand the challenges that go with parenthood, the emotional rollercoaster, the guilt, the difficult mornings, we can relate to it all.

It is natural that all children fall over, accidents do happen. With children, we always expect the unexpected. Because we never know which member of the team will be the one who may need to carry out first aid, we ensure every member of the team holds Paediatric First Aid Certificates and renew their training regularly to ensure they can deal with any situation or emergency.

Each key person is the first point of contact for parents regarding matters concerning their child. They are responsible for settling in, prime time care such as nappy changing, sleep, rest and supporting learning independence skills. The key person will also carry out observations, assessments, and plan learning opportunities to suit each child’s individual needs and interests.

"I can not fault the care given to my child from any of Little Deers staff. In particular, Rosanna is always approachable, friendly with an understanding of my child’s needs/development and routines. She is thriving under her and others care." (Little Deers Parent)

"Very approachable, informative, supportive to help with routine at Little Deers and home. Easy to access through the knew Family app (which I think is super!), she seems to know my son well and he is happy to be collected by her at the gate" (Little Deers Parent)
