Investigation Area

A warm and welcoming space where children can ask questions and find out answers through investigation and experimenting. Staff support children's inquisitive minds by asking questions and where necessary, suggesting different ways to find something out. Children can experiment with light and colour; find out how and why things work with simple electrical circuits; learn early keyboard and mouse skills; and learn about life cycles and how to care for living things through first hand experiences.

Investigating natural objects we found in the forest.

The life cycle of a chicken:

The life cycle of a butterfly:

How many teeth does a snail have?

The life cycle of a ladybird:

The children made lettuce soup to feed a snail they found in the garden to find out!
