Welcome to

Little Deers Day Nursery

Memories made at Little Deers stay in our hearts forever.

Little Deers Day Nursery is located in the picturesque village of Burley in the New Forest National Park, close to the Hampshire / Dorset border. In its own private, tranquil grounds, well away from busy roads, with its own car parking to keep parents and children safe from the moment they arrive.

Our extensive external space affords our children the chance to interact with nature throughout the seasons.  This unique setting really has to be seen to be appreciated.

Little Deers is a committee run nursery and a registered charity. It was originally set up to provide play, care and education for children below school age and over the age of 2 years within a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.

We have now grown from strength to strength and provide care from the age of 3 months to the September following a child's 4th birthday, when they start 'Big School'.  We are open 50 weeks of the year (we close for 2 weeks at Christmas and Bank Holidays) during the hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

We provide a calm and welcoming place for children to learn, explore and have fun.  We have two base rooms, our Caterpillars Room, for the under three's and our Butterflies Room, for children over three.  The rooms are interlinked to ensure smooth, confident transitions when the children are ready to move from one room to the next.  Both base rooms have access to their own all weather play area.  We have a large forest garden, complete with country cottage playhouse, kitchen garden, wildlife area, wooden climbing frame, mud kitchen with digging area, sand and water.

Saying Good Morning to the Neighbours

"Little Deers offers everything a little one needs. Not only do they have an incredible team who are so wonderful and always positive but they provide a great ethos in their approaches to caring for the littlies. They keep us up to date with how our daughter is getting on during her time there which is so reassuring and gives us confidence when she’s not with us." (Little Deers Parent)

Quote from Ofsted Inspection Report 2019

“Children are happy and settled. They develop close attachments with the caring and attentive staff, who get to know the children and families very well. Children behave well and the atmosphere in the nursery is very calm and welcoming.”

“All children make good progress in readiness for their future learning and the move on to school. They have positive attitudes towards learning, and acquire good social skills and skills in language and mathematics”
